Event Overview
The Dawlish Triathlon takes place in Dawlish Warren, offering a multisport experience situated along the coast. The competition features several variations including a traditional triathlon format and an aquabike category. Participants begin the race with a sea swim before transitioning to a bike course consisting of multiple laps on a flat and sheltered circuit. The final segment of the triathlon is a run that utilizes sections of the local coast path.
Race Categories
The event offers three distinct registration options based on distance and discipline:
- Sprint Triathlon: Includes a 750m swim, a 24km bike ride, and a 5k run.
- Supersprint Triathlon: Consists of a 300m swim, a 16k bike ride, and a 5k run.
- Aquabike: Features a 300m swim followed by a 16k bike ride.
The bike portion for the Sprint distance requires three laps of the circuit, while the shorter distances involve two laps. Participation is open to individuals aged 15 and over.
Participant Services
The event provides electronic chip timing that includes specific splits for transition sections. The courses are fully marked and managed by marshals. Safety services are provided by professional first aid teams and water safety experts from the Teignmouth Beach Surf Live Saving Club. A feed station is positioned on the course to support participants during the race.
Logistics
