Event details
The Dawg Gone Long Run 50k/50 Miler takes place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Caesar Creek State Park Visitor Center in Waynesville, Ohio. The event is Trail Sisters approved and is organized by the Ohio River Road Runners Club, a volunteer 501(c)(3) organization. Distances offered:
- 50 Mile Ultra
- 50k Ultra
Packet pickup is available the night before at the visitor center shelter and there is additional pickup on race morning. The event uses extended cutoffs of 15 hours for both distances.
Course, aid stations and rules
Both events use a single loop composed of the Perimeter (Yellow), Cove (Red), Peninsula (Green) and Fifty Springs (Orange) trails. The 50-mile distance consists of three counterclockwise loops with a slight variation at the end of each loop; the 50k is two counterclockwise loops. The terrain is mostly single-track with frequent rollers; the largest hill is about 80 feet.
There are two manned aid stations: the start/finish (visitor center) and Buckeye Way Shelter on the Fifty Springs loop. Manned stations will offer water, Skratch, food items, and limited hot drinks; unmanned stations provide water only. This is a cupless race - no disposable cups will be available. Runners should carry a water bottle or hydration pack and a reusable cup (a collapsible cup is available for purchase). Drop bags are kept at the visitor center aid station. Runners may switch from the 50-mile to the 50k at the end of two loops or before the start. Cutoffs will be enforced and the course will be swept late in the day.
