About the race
The Miamisburg Turkey Trot is presented by the Ohio River Road Runners Club and offers in-person and virtual participation on Thanksgiving Day. Event options include:
- 5 mile live run/walk
- 1 mile live fun run/walk (un-timed; no awards)
The 5 mile course begins at the intersection of Main Street and Water Street and finishes in Riverfront Park. The loop course includes a railroad crossing, an uphill section and one water stop; there is a notable hill in the first mile. Five mile participants are assigned starting corrals based on expected finish time and their race time is recorded when they cross the start mat. Disposable timing chips are issued on the back of each 5 mile bib and must not be removed.
A virtual option is available; virtual race packets are mailed from Fairfield, Ohio with the aim of arrival by Thanksgiving. New this year entrants choose either a hoodie or a long sleeved tech shirt during registration. Late registration and the in-person expo and packet pickup are held at the Baum Opera House (15 South 1st Street, Miamisburg, Ohio 45342). There is no race day registration and the refund policy is no refunds.
Race rules prohibit bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, roller skates or blades, and animals. Headset use is discouraged. Strollers may be used only from the back of specified corrals for safety. There is a minimum pace requirement approximately 2.25 miles into the course; participants who have not reached Rt 25 by that point may be directed off course and will not pass through Rice Field.
