Event Overview
Dave's Solstice Run at Blue Lake is a community running event held on June 20, 2026 to celebrate the summer solstice. The event is named in honor of a long-time club volunteer and organizer known for his dedication to family-friendly events.
Distances and Registration
The event offers two distances:
- 5K: A run/walk event.
- Kids Fun Run: A free event for participants aged 3 to 11.
On-site registration and packet pickup are available on the event day. The standard registration fee for the 5K is $35. Members of the organizing club (ORRC) receive a discount on registration. A Pay It Forward Fund is available to assist participants with financial difficulties.
Course and Location
The course is a loop run entirely within Blue Lake Park in Fairview, Oregon. Parking at the park is included with race entry.
Event Features and Policies
Post-race food includes breakfast items, fresh fruit, and yogurt. Participants receive a custom foldable fan/flying disc. The event is organized with an eco-friendly approach, encouraging participants to bring their own hydration systems. The club offers a "My First Run" program with custom bibs for milestone runs and presents a "Red Caboose" award to the final finisher.
