The Daufuskie Island Marathon and Half takes place on January 17, 2026, on Daufuskie Island, SC. The event is hosted from Haig Point, a private residential community just off the coast of Hilton Head Island. The race uses a USATF certified course and offers the following distances:
- 13.1 miles
- 26.2 miles
The full marathon is run as two laps of the 13.1 mile course. The route uses both paved and unpaved roads and passes through Haig Point, Freeport, Church Road, and returns along the beach.
Logistics and race features
Runners travel to the island by ferry; a ferry pass to Daufuskie Island is not included in race registration and must be purchased separately. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at Palmetto Running Company in Hilton Head (28 Shelter Cove Lane, Suite 117). The event package includes race swag and a finisher medal. Medal engraving is available from a local artist at the after party. Post-race provisions on the island include a catered picnic lunch and a selection of beverages, including beer for those of legal drinking age. Overall and age-group awards are presented for the top three male and female finishers in each distance. The race is produced by Run 4 a Reason LLC / Rough Runners R4R INC with Palmetto Running Company and Haig Point involved in hosting. Beneficiary support includes the Daufuskie Island Conservancy.
