This event on Daufuskie Island at Haig Point offers a full marathon, a half marathon, and a short children’s run. The full and half courses are USATF certified and can serve as qualifiers for other marathons. The route passes island landmarks such as Haig Point Lighthouse, Freeport, the Historical Society, Tabby Circle, Church Road, and sections that overlook the Atlantic Ocean and run along the beach.
Race production and ownership are listed as Run 4 a Reason LLC / Rough Runners R4R INC. Registration includes food, refreshments, medal engraving, and race photos. Each finisher receives a medal; race swag was noted as forthcoming. A catered picnic lunch and a selection of beverages, including beer for participants of legal drinking age, are provided after the race. Food and beverage will also be available to spectators for a small fee.
The kids run is a submile fun run for children of participants or island residents, with proceeds benefiting Daufuskie Island Independent School. The 2026 race listed beneficiaries as the Daufuskie Island Conservancy, Haig Point Foundation, and Daufuskie Island Historical Society. A ferry pass to the island is not included in registration; purchasers will be notified by email when ferry passes become available.
