About the race
The 3rd Annual Dash for Diabetes Awareness is a community running event organized by Southern New Mexico Diabetes Outreach (SNMDO) on November 14, 2026 at Old Mesilla Plaza, 2355 Calle De Guadalupe, Las Cruces, NM 88005. Proceeds support SNMDO programs that provide diabetes education, prevention and support services for children and adults in the region.
SNMDO is a nonprofit diabetes education center founded in 1998 that delivers diabetes self-management education, a National Diabetes Prevention Program, Smart Moves for Kids, support groups, and health screenings. The organization serves over 1,000 people per year, from children as young as five to seniors, and is described as the local diabetes organization serving Las Cruces and surrounding areas.
Event features include a race and a community wellness fair with vendors, resources, free screenings, and giveaways. The event is held rain or shine. Race-day registration is managed at an on-site registration booth and the published registration fee for the listed events is $25.00.
Awards and recognitions are part of the event: participant medals are available while supplies last; additional medals are offered for top finishers by male and female age groups. Additional prizes recognize team and community spirit in categories such as largest team, funniest team name, most spirited runner, and family and community champions.
