Dash for Dad
Dash for Dad takes place on June 20, 2026, at Lake Hawkins in Hawkins, Texas (156 County Road 3455). Hosted by Amancio’s Athletics, the event honors fathers and father figures and began as a community tribute after the loss of a father to cancer.
The course loops around the lake, is described as scenic and well marked, and will have volunteers along the route. Distances offered:
- 1 Mile Dash: family-friendly, non-timed, non-bibbed.
- 5K Run: timed course around Lake Hawkins.
- 10K Run: timed longer course around Lake Hawkins.
Registration opens April 10, 2026, and closes May 8, 2026. Entry fees listed are $15 for the 1 Mile, $35 for the 5K, and $45 for the 10K. Registration includes participation in the selected race and parking at the Lake Hawkins beach area. After the event, participants may remain at the lake for swimming and to spend the afternoon with family.
