Dash At Dawn: International Community School 5K and Fun Run
The Dash at Dawn is an annual running event held in Decatur, Georgia, at the International Community School (ICS). This event was established to honor the long-standing legacy of the school’s first physical education teacher and to support the mission of the institution. The school serves a student body composed of local, immigrant, and refugee children within an International Baccalaureate (IB) framework.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1K Fun Run
The 5K course is USATF certified and serves as a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race. Results are professionally timed, and awards are presented across different age groups. All registrations completed by April 17th include an official event t-shirt, though specific sizes are not guaranteed for those who register after this date.
The event structure includes a scheduled warm-up session and a formal awards ceremony following the completion of the main races. All proceeds from the registration fees contribute directly to the International Community School and its educational programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
