The Dartmouth Natal Day Road Races have been held in Dartmouth continuously since 1907, making it one of the oldest races in North America. The event consists of a 2-mile and a 6-mile race, both run on a 2-mile course through historic downtown Dartmouth. The start and finish are in front of the 250-year-old Christ Church on Ochterloney Street. A reception and awards presentation follow the races.

The race attracts many top elite runners from around the province but is organized as a family-oriented event with many multi-generational families participating together. It is priced to be affordable. The event is a staple part of the Natal Day weekend for many people, whether they participate, volunteer, or spectate. The annual Natal Day Parade goes past the start-finish area shortly after the race ends, and many other activities take place in Dartmouth throughout the day.

The event is organized by the Dartmouth Natal Day Road Race Association, which operates on a not-for-profit basis. Over the years, proceeds from the race have been donated to local food-security charities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
