Dartmoor Discovery Ultra Marathon
The Dartmoor Discovery is a single-lap road ultra held in Princetown, running from the Princetown Community Centre (PL20 6RF). The advertised course distance is 32 mile, covering steep and varied hill terrain on Dartmoor. The event is described as the longest single lap road ultra marathon in the UK and carries a course accuracy certificate plus an Association of Running Clubs race permit No. ARC/26/0077.
Entry is limited to 275 runners. A race cut off time of 6 hour 45 minutes applies. Personal drinks may be left at nine of the ten drink stations along the route. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and a technical t-shirt, and free food is provided at the finish. Other on-site facilities include bag storage, a PA system, free race photos, a bar and an after-race disco.
Prize payments are offered for new course records and placings across multiple categories, including cash for a new male or female course record and awards for veteran and team classifications.
