Dandelion Dash and Mushroom Mile
The Dandelion Dash and Mushroom Mile is an annual running and walking event located at 193 Bay Road in Hadley, Massachusetts. The event takes place on the trails of The Hartsbrook School campus and is open to members of the public. Participants navigate a course that features uneven terrain and may include significant amounts of mud, as the races proceed regardless of weather conditions.
The event offers two main distances for in-person participants:
- 5 km trail run or walk
- 1 mile race
The proceeds from the event are used to support specific educational programming at the school. These programs include Land Stewardship, which incorporates animal husbandry, beekeeping practices, sustainable agriculture, and climate education into the curriculum for students from first through twelfth grade.
For those who are unable to attend the event in Hadley, a virtual option titled the Distance Dash is available. This format allows participants to record a distance of 5 km or more from any location.
