About the race
DanceBlue 5K 2026 is a fundraising 5K run/walk at the University of Kentucky in Lexington that supports the DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Golisano’s Children’s at the University of Kentucky. The event is organized by DanceBlue, a student-run philanthropy that raises funds and awareness year-round and culminates in a 24-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon. The 5K is part of the organization’s broader fundraising activities, which include mini marathons, a silent auction, and other events. Registration is offered in categories for UK students, community members and UK staff or faculty, plus a virtual 5K option.
Registration windows include early, standard and late periods; registration prices increase the week before registration closes at 11:59 PM on Sunday, October 11. Race packets must be picked up before race day; there is no race-day pickup. UK student packet pick-up is at the DanceBlue Office in Gatton Student Center, Room 262A, on October 13, 14 and 15 with afternoon and evening windows, and Friday October 16 during the afternoon. Community pick-up is at John’s Run/Walk Shop, 317 S Ashland Ave, on Saturday October 17 from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
T-shirt sizes are available on a first come first serve basis. No refunds are available. A 5K course map and event results are provided by the organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
