Dam Bridge 10K : Florence, AL
The event is a USATF certified 10K road race (certificate AL16012JE) that begins and finishes at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center in Florence, AL. The course crosses the Tennessee River on Wilson Dam, follows a portion of the paved TVA nature trail, returns across the river on the pedestrian walkway of the Singing River Bridge, and finishes through a short residential section back at the conference center.
The race uses professional RFID chip timing and provides mile markers with split times at each mile. There are two aid and recovery stations located near mile 2 and mile 4.5; restroom facilities are available at the second aid station. Runners must complete the course within a 90 minute time limit and maintain at least a 14:30 per mile pace. Because of course constraints there is no wheelchair division. Baby joggers, strollers, wheeled devices, and pets are not allowed on the course.
Packet pickup is offered early at Solid Rock Running Company in Florence and on race day at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center. Registered runners who sign up before the November 1 shirt deadline are guaranteed a technical race shirt in the size ordered. Awards include top three overall male and female, top Masters (40+) male and female, top GrandMasters (60+) male and female, and first through third in male and female age groups across the listed brackets.
