Dam Bridge 10K
The event is a USATF certified 10K that begins and ends at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center in Florence, AL. The course crosses the Tennessee River on Wilson Dam, follows a portion of the paved TVA nature trail, returns across the river on the pedestrian walkway of the Singing River Bridge, and finishes via a short residential segment back at the conference center. The 10K course certification number is AL16012JE and the race is RFID chip timed by Race Ready Events.
A 90 minute time limit is enforced; runners must maintain at least a 14:30 pace per mile. There is no wheelchair division. Baby joggers, strollers, pets, and other wheeled devices are not allowed on the course. The route includes hills with grades reported between 8 and 15 percent.
Two aid and recovery stations are located near mile 2 and mile 4.5; restroom facilities are available at the second aid station. Mile markers are displayed and split times are provided at each mile.
Runners registered before the shirt deadline on November 1 are guaranteed a technical race shirt. Early packet pickup is offered at Solid Rock Running Company in Florence. Free on-site parking is available at the Marriott Conference Center. Awards are given for top overall male and female finishers, Masters and GrandMasters divisions, and three-place medals in the listed age groups.
