Event Overview
The Daisy Dash is a charity running event organized by MLK Health. The event features three participation options: a 5K race, a Fun Run of half a mile, and a Sideline Supporter registration for those who wish to contribute without running. Proceeds benefit MLK Health's mission to provide no-cost healthcare to uninsured adults with chronic diseases.
Event Details
The race takes place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the MLK Health Center on 865 Olive Street in Shreveport, Louisiana. Participants are encouraged to wear daisy-themed outfits and accessories.
The available events are:
- 5K: Open to participants of all ages.
- Fun Run: A half-mile run.
- Sideline Supporter: A non-running registration option.
Registration
Standard registration includes a t-shirt. Prices increase after March 13, 2026.
- 5K: $25 standard, $30 late registration.
- Fun Run: $20 standard, $25 late registration.
- Sideline Supporter: $25 (with t-shirt) or $20 (without t-shirt).
Race day registration opens at 7:15 a.m.
Awards and Post-Race
In the 5K, overall male and female finishers receive cash prizes. First-place male and female winners in each age group receive a trophy. Age groups range from 18 & under to 70+. After the race, an award ceremony with water, snacks, and music will be held in MLK's award-winning garden. All Fun Run participants receive a certificate upon finishing.

Packet pickup is available at two locations: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
- Thursday, April 2nd at MLK Health (12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.).
- Friday, April 3rd at Sportspectrum, 6970 Fern Avenue (10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.).
- Race day pickup is also available at the race site starting at 7:15 a.m.
