Cupertino Splash and Dash
Cupertino Splash and Dash is a community-focused, grassroots aquathlon held at Stevens Creek Reservoir with running on Stevens Creek Canyon park trails in Cupertino, California. The event takes place on a Thursday afternoon and does not offer race day registration.
Event formats and distances include:
- Adult Splash and Dash: 1.5 km swim and 5 km run
- Youth Splash and Dash (ages 11 to 15): 200 m swim and 2 km run
- 0.5 mile swim event
- 1 mile swim event
- 5 km run on park trails
Timing chips are used for recorded results. The transition area is not fenced in and does not have guards. Spectators, children, and dogs are permitted at the venue. The swim portions take place in the reservoir and the run portions use park trail surfaces in the canyon.
The event is presented as community oriented and grassroots in nature. It is described as an opportunity for an intense effort combining two disciplines or for open water swim practice.
