Cultus Lake Triathlon : event overview
The Cultus Lake Triathlon takes place at Cultus Lake Park near Chilliwack, British Columbia, and offers multiple race options on the same day: Sprint and Standard triathlon, Standard aquabike, Standard duathlon, and Sprint aquathlon. The venue includes the main beach, a grassy transition area between the lake and Parking Lot B, and mapped bike and run loops around the park.
Course and event details:
- The swim course is set on race weekend and is clockwise with buoys kept on the swimmer's right. Starts are in waist deep water. Certified lifeguards and boat, kayak and paddle board support are provided.
- Bike courses are a 20 km out-and-back for Sprint and a 40 km loop for Standard.
- The run course is one loop for Sprint and two loops for Standard; runners begin laps east toward the boat launch and return to the finish along 1st Avenue.
- Transition is fenced and secured. Athletes must show their numbered wristband to enter and to remove bikes. Bike racks are numbered and arranged by race distance and age group.
Registrations include race essentials and support such as a technical race garment, custom finisher medal, post-race nourishment, silicone swim caps, body marking, stocked aid stations, professional medical staff, traffic-controlled bike support, and experienced volunteers.
