Cultus Lake Triathlon : overview

The Cultus Lake Triathlon takes place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Cultus Lake Park near Chilliwack, British Columbia. The event is produced by Dynamic Race Events and offers multiple sub-events: Sprint and Standard triathlon, Standard Aquabike, Standard Duathlon and Sprint Aquathlon. The event field is limited to 800 athletes. Triathlon BC race-day insurance is required; non-members must purchase a 1-day membership for race insurance.

Course, logistics and policies

The swim is a one-loop course for Sprint and two loops for Standard. Swimmers start in waist-deep water, swim clockwise keeping buoys on the right, with two main corner turns marked by large yellow buoys and orange course markers. Certified lifeguards and boat, kayak and paddle board support are on the water. The bike course is a 20k out-and-back for Sprint and a 40k loop for Standard. The Standard Aquabike is listed as 1500m swim | 40k bike. The run is one loop for Sprint and two loops for Standard; laps start along the Cultus Lake Path and finish approach uses 1st Avenue, with runners returning to the finish along 1st Avenue rather than the path.

Transition is on the grass between the lake and Parking Lot B, fenced and secured. Athletes must show numbered wristbands to enter transition and to remove bikes. Transition includes athlete toilets, a penalty/relay tent and numbered bike racks organized by distance and age group.

Entries are non-refundable; there is an optional Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection program. Athlete-to-athlete transfers and race-distance changes are allowed up to 14 days before the event (a transfer fee applies). All courses are subject to final permit approval and may be changed if required. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
