Culpeper Triathlon Festival
This festival weekend takes place at Mountain Run Lake Park in Culpeper, VA, at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Course details describe a time trial swim start on a rectangular loop with yellow turn buoys and orange sighting buoys about every 75 meters. Water temperatures are expected around 80–82 F, so wetsuits may not be legal; a temperature reading is posted the Friday before the race.
The bike courses run on well paved, low traffic roads with rolling terrain, short steep climbs, and some technical descents; they are scenic but not set up for personal records. Run courses are out and back loops with rolling terrain and aid stations about every mile offering ice water and Gatorade.
The event is USA Triathlon sanctioned. Registration is non refundable; race deferrals are available. Packet pickup is held at the race site on the Friday and Saturday before the race and participants must present photo ID to collect event materials.
