Event Details
The Cuilcagh mountain running event takes place in County Cavan on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The course has a climb of 870 meters over a distance of 11.90 km. The event difficulty is rated as level 3 (easy terrain, under 200 meters ascent, under 6 km).
Race Information
The race is part of the Ulster Championship and the North West League. Course marking is provided only at major junctions. The use of GPS devices is not allowed.
Mandatory Kit
All runners must bring specific mandatory kit items to the race. This mandatory Level B kit includes a waterproof jacket, a hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. The specific kit to be carried during the race will be decided on the event day based on conditions and will be announced at registration. Runners must have a means to carry all required kit. Failure to have these items may result in denied entry or disqualification, and random checks may be performed.
Registration
Online entries open on Monday, September 7, 2026, at 21:00 and close on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 18:00. The entry fee is €7 for seniors and €5 for participants over 65 or under 18. The entry limit is 250 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
