CT Veterans Day Race
The CT Veterans Day Race is a community event in Coventry, Connecticut, held on November 7, 2026. The event raises funds for Connecticut veteran service organizations; 100 percent of the proceeds support those organizations.
The event offers multiple participation options:
- 4 miles run, live or virtual, on a certified course
- 3 miles walk
- 3 miles ruck; participants are asked to carry non-perishable food items in their backpacks for donation
Rucking is described as walking with added weight in a backpack. Food collected in the ruck is donated to the veterans food pantry through the Vittles for Veterans program. The organizers also accept donations of daily essential items for the Backpacks for Life program; those items are sorted by the Coventry H.S. National Honor Society and distributed to homeless veterans in Connecticut.
The event accommodates participants, vendors, and spectators along the race route. Past participants have described a scenic course and strong town support along the route. The event is presented as a way to honor and support veterans while raising funds and collecting needed items for local veteran programs.
