Cryin on the Climb
Cryin on the Climb is a trail race in Provo, UT on November 7, 2026, presented by High Altitude Races. The event uses a repeated out and back course from the Slate Canyon trailhead and runs on a 12 hour clock.
The course is a simple loop in structure but strenuous in profile. Each lap is a 2 mile round trip made up of a 1 mile ascent and a 1 mile descent. Each ascent contains approximately 1,000 feet of vertical gain, and each descent returns that vertical loss. Participants complete as many laps as they can within the 12 hour period.
Distances:
- 1 mile ascent with 1,000 feet of vertical gain.
- 1 mile descent with 1,000 feet of vertical loss.
- 2 mile round trip out and back from Slate Canyon trailhead.
Support services are provided by the organizer. There is one aid station at the bottom of the route, described as stocked for an all-day ultra.
