Cryin on the Climb - Race overview
Cryin on the Climb is a new trail race in Provo, UT, scheduled for November 7, 2026, and presented by High Altitude Races. The event is a timed lap format that gives participants twelve hours to complete as many laps as they choose on a short, steep out-and-back.
The route is a 2 mile round trip from the Slate Canyon trailhead. Each lap consists of 1 mile up with 1,000 feet of vertical gain and 1 mile down with 1,000 feet of vertical loss. Aid support is provided at the bottom of the route; the aid station is stocked to support long-duration effort.
The course follows singletrack chosen to showcase the canyon. The organizers note that climbs and descents are repeated sections of the same route rather than a point-to-point course. Event operations include packet pickup and race information materials; further official race details and the race flyer are listed as forthcoming.
Medical response, aid stations, and event merchandise are described as part of the organizer's support for participants. The format emphasizes repeated ascents and descents on a short loop, with overall performance measured by the number of laps completed within the twelve hour window.
