The event is a charitable 5K held at Wire Park in Watkinsville, Georgia (1725 Electric Avenue). The organizer is Fit Body and the event benefits four local families affected by serious medical conditions; proceeds from the race and a connected shoe drive are divided evenly among these families.
Participant categories and fees listed by the organizer are:
- Age 14 and older: $30
- Age 5 to 13: $20
Packet pick-up is available the day before at the Watkinsville Fit Body Boot Camp location and on race day near the amphitheatre in front of The Grid at Wire Park. Free parking is provided on a first come, first served basis. The course follows the same route used in the previous year; a course map is available in the event gallery and at registration tables.
A shoe drive runs through September 16 at the organizer’s gym locations. Shoes may be new or lightly worn with intact soles and must be donated as matching pairs; shoes with laces must have the laces tied together and non-lace shoes must be secured together. For every bag of 25 pairs collected, the nonprofit partner provides approximately $10; all funds from the shoe drive are distributed evenly to the four beneficiary families.
