Crumbley Run 2026 : Watkinsville, GA
The Crumbley Run is a charity 5K held at Wire Park in Watkinsville on September 19, 2026. The event raises funds for four families from Watkinsville, Jefferson, Athens, and Monroe who face serious medical challenges. Proceeds from the run and related activities are divided evenly among these families.
The beneficiaries include a local coach from Watkinsville who has undergone multiple cancer treatments and later developed metastatic disease; a young child from Jefferson living with a long-term brain tumor and ongoing therapies; a single mother in Athens receiving chemotherapy for stage 4 gastric cancer; and a Monroe resident recently diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. The event description highlights each person or family’s medical needs and caregiving circumstances.
Registration is offered in two age categories with listed fees: individuals age 14 and older, and individuals age 5 to 13. Organizers also run a shoe drive through September 16 that accepts used or new shoes in matching pairs. For every bag of 25 pairs collected the organizer receives about $10; the shoe drive target is 400 bags, with all funds from the drive and the 5K allocated to the four families. Shoe donation rules specify no holes, intact soles, and that pairs be tied or secured together.
Event amenities noted by the organizer include packet pick-up at a local Fit Body location and on race day near the amphitheatre, free parking on a first come, first served basis, giveaways, music, booths, a rock wall, public restrooms, nearby brewery and shops, and timing provided by a local running company. The course is the same as the previous year and is provided in the event gallery and at registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
