Croom Fools Run 50M/50K/16M
The event on April 3, 2027 takes place in Brooksville, FL at Withlacoochee State Forest and is organized by Tampa Races.com. The course uses the Croom Hiking Trail and follows a 16-mile main loop through long leaf pine and scrub oak terrain, passing creek bottoms and cypress ponds.
Distances
- 50 Mile - three 16-mile loops
- 50K - two 16-mile loops
- 16 Mile - one 16-mile loop
There are three aid stations located along the loop. Aid stations will provide water, sports drink, gels, and some food. Because the race is a loop course, 50M and 50K participants pass the main staging area on each loop and can access drop bags.
Race packets can be picked up at Tucker Hill the Friday before the race from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, or the morning of the race. The event limits the field to 250 total runners and to 125 runners for the 16-mile distance. All pre-registered runners receive a full-color short-sleeved tech shirt. Finisher awards are given to every participant, and overall and masters awards for male and female finishers are presented for each distance. A post-race picnic includes burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, chips, fruit, and cookies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
