Event Overview

The Crooked River 5K is a trail running event taking place in Harrison, Maine. The course explores the trails of the Crooked River Forest. The event starts and finishes at Scribner's Mill, a historic sawmill and homestead located on the Crooked River.

The Course

The course is described as a "lollipop" loop. It begins at the historic Scribner's Mill bridge. Runners head up Scribners Mills Road to the Crooked River Trailhead. The route follows a trail to a fork, turns left onto the Intervale Trail down to the Crooked River, connects to a winter snowshoe trail, and then follows the Evergreen Trail back to the trailhead. The finish is back on Scribners Mills Road. A GPX file of the course is available via a provided link.

Aid Station

One aid station is located on the course at the beginning of the Evergreen Trail section, approximately 1.75 miles into the race. This station provides only water.

Additional Information

The race is part of a series. Participants who register for one race in the series receive a discount on another. Those who sign up for any three races in the series receive a series hoodie. All proceeds from the event benefit the Loon Echo Land Trust, a non-profit organization focused on land conservation in the Lakes Region, including the Crooked River Forest.
