Crescent City Connection Bridge Run
The Crescent City Connection Bridge Run is a evening road race that takes place in New Orleans. The event features a 6K (four-mile) course that allows participants to run or walk across the Mississippi River. The route begins on the West Bank at the Oakwood Center and utilizes the HOV Transit Lane of the Crescent City Connection Bridge, meaning regular bridge traffic is not affected during the event.
The course layout consists of approximately one mile of uphill running, one mile of downhill, and two flat miles. The uphill section features a gradual slope, while the downhill portion off the HOV lane is noted for being steep. As the race takes place during the evening, participants have a view of the New Orleans skyline and the river at sunset.
Registered participants receive a timed race bib, a commemorative t-shirt, and a finishers medal. Children aged five and under are permitted to participate for free, though they do not receive a bib or t-shirt. The event provides a free shuttle service to transport participants between the West Bank and East Bank before and after the race.
The race concludes on the East Bank in downtown New Orleans at Fulton Street. The finish area hosts a post-race party featuring live music, food, and beverages. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in the open division, as well as the first-place male and female finishers in various age groups, Masters, Grandmasters, and Seniors divisions.
