Creede Mountain Run
The Creede Mountain Run is an annual trail event in Creede, Colorado, first held in 1987. Races start in the town’s historic district and follow Willow Creek north into the San Juan Mountains. The event offers multiple distances:
- 50K
- 22 Mile
- 12 Mile
- 2 Mile
The courses pass historic mining sites and named features such as the Black Pitch, Heartbreak Hill, Allen’s Crossing (5-mile mark at 10,500 feet), the old Bachelor Townsite (about 10,700 feet), the Continental Divide (approximately 12,500 feet), Neverending Valley, Rat Creek, and stretches along Miners Creek and Sunnyside Cutoff. Terrain includes jeep roads, single track, well-graded dirt road descents, and exposed high-elevation sections; at least six miles are open to the elements.
Entry rules and cutoffs apply: online registration for the 22 Mile and 50K closes August 30, 2026, at midnight; there is no day-of registration for those two distances. 50K runners must reach the Oso Creek cutoff within a specified time or will be directed onto the 22 Mile course, and the complete 50K has a maximum finish time. 22 Mile runners must be at Allen’s Crossing within a specified time or will be directed to the 12 Mile course.
