The 50K route departs the 22 Mile Main Course at Oso Creek Cutoff (TR 787), follows Miners Creek (TR 803), then Sunnyside Cutoff (FR 517) before rejoining FR 504 and returning into town past the Sunnyside Chapel. 50K runners must reach the Oso Creek Cutoff within five hours or will be directed to continue on the 22 Mile Course. The full 50K finish cutoff is ten hours.
The 22 Mile route begins in Creede at about 8,852 feet, ascends past Allen's Crossing (approximately 10,500 feet) and tops near the Continental Divide around 12,500 feet. Runners must arrive at Allen's Crossing within 1.5 hours to remain on the 22 Mile route; otherwise they will be directed to the 12 Mile course.
