Snowshoe Shuffle : Creede
The 41st Annual Snowshoe Shuffle is a 5k run and walk held in Creede on the first Saturday of August. The event is named for Snowshoe Mountain but snowshoes are not necessary. It is presented as a community run and walk open to participants of all ages and abilities.
The course is an out-and-back that starts at Basham Park and follows East Willow. Most of the route is on dirt roads.
All participants receive a shirt and post-race snacks, and are entered into door prize drawings with items donated by local merchants. Field size is typically between 75 and 100 racers.
Entry fees are listed as $25 if received by Aug 1 and $30 on race day. Groups of five or more receive a $5 discount per participant when pre-registering. Race day registration takes place at Basham Park.
Proceeds from the event have been donated to Mineral County emergency services on a rotating basis for fire, emergency medical services, and search and rescue for the past 40 years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
