Crazy Muley Ultra 2026
The event takes place in Edgerton, Alberta, and offers two single loop courses that run through sand dune complexes. The start and finish are at the Sand Dune Liquor Store parking lot. Each course mixes single track, quad trails and road sections on pavement and gravel, and is marked with pink or blue Wainwright Runners pin flags.
Distances:
- 50K
- 25Kish
- 25Kish two person relay with a team exchange at Aid Station 1 (segments about 16 km and 11 km)
Both races share the first half of the loop before splitting into separate loops. The terrain includes continuous rolling hills, loose sand and little shade. There are two main aid stations for the 50K and one for the 25Kish, plus several water only stations. Aid Station 1 is at about 16 km and is the only main station for the 25Kish. Aid Station 2 is encountered around 27 km and again at 32 km for the 50K. Stations supply snacks, bakery items, fruit, candy, gels, water and electrolyte drinks. Drop bags are allowed and must be handed to race volunteers before the start.
The finish area is adjacent to a bar and the Oasis Hotel will serve food and drinks during and after the race. All finishers receive a handmade clay buckle and a finisher beer. The event is cup less so participants should bring a reusable cup. Dogs are permitted with leash rules at start/finish and aid stations and must not interfere with other runners. Cutoffs are generous with 12 hours for the 50K and 6 hours for the 25Kish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
