Crazy Muley Ultra 2026
The event takes place in Edgerton, Alberta, and features routes through sand dune complexes. This edition marks the fifth anniversary. Start and finish are at the Sand Dune Liquor Store parking lot, across from the Oasis Hotel. Each course is a single loop that passes through rolling hills, loose sand and areas with little shade. Surfaces include single track, quad trails, pavement and gravel. Routes are marked with pin flags.
Distances offered
- 50K one loop through sand dune complexes, rolling hills and loose sand
- 25K-ish one loop sharing first half then unique single track
- 25K-ish two person relay teams switch at AS1, legs about 16 km and 11 km
Both races share the first half of the loop before splitting into separate circuits. The 50K has two main aid stations and several water only stations; the 25K-ish has one main aid station and two water only stations. Aid Station #1 is at about 16 km and will offer food, bakery items, fruit, candy, gels, water, an electrolyte mix and pop, plus a port a potty. Aid Station #2 is reached near 27 km and 32 km (same station hit twice) and offers similar supplies. Drop bags are allowed and returned later in the day. The event is cup less, so participants should bring a reusable cup. Time cutoffs are generous: 12 hours for the 50K and 6 hours for the 25K. All finishers receive a handmade clay buckle in a new color and a finisher beer. Dogs are permitted under control with leash rules at start, finish and aid stations.
