Bison Run 2026
The event is organized by Wainwright Runners and takes place in Wainwright, Alberta at 402 4 Ave S. Multiple participation options are offered.

The course is an out and back on the paved multi-use Ascot and Area Recreation Trail (RR#70) beside the Bud Cotton Buffalo Paddock. The route includes rolling terrain and runs entirely on pavement. Strollers are allowed. Dogs are permitted if leashed and under owner control; owners must clean up after their dogs. Personal music is allowed provided runners remain considerate of others. Participants are advised to dress in layers for variable spring weather and to bring warm clothing to change into after the event.
Age categories are defined for the 5 km and 10 km races, for the 2 km kids run, and an open category for the 5 km walk. Top finishers in each category will receive a handmade ceramic mug. Registrations completed before April 1 are guaranteed a free handheld soft flask while quantities last. Race packages can be picked up at Jack's Place the day before or on the morning of the event. Timing is manual and official times will be provided; results will be posted after the race. The organizers reserve the right to cancel for extreme weather or other unforeseen circumstances; entries are not refunded in the event of cancellation.
