Wainwright Runners Backyard Ultra 2026
This is a Backyard Ultra event. Runners must complete a 6.7 km loop every hour. The format continues until no runners are left or for a maximum of 24 hours, which is approximately 100 miles.
The race takes place in Wainwright, Alberta, Canada. The start and finish are at the Wainwright Splash Park. The course is run on all hard surfaces, mostly asphalt running paths and sidewalks, with some running on the road.
There is no official aid station. Runners are expected to bring their own fuel and hydration. Flush toilets are available at the start/finish area.
Each participant receives a hooded blanket and a DNF wood coin. The event also functions as a fundraiser for the local animal shelter, the Wainwright Pound. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
