Event Overview

The Crazy Legs 10k+ Trail Run is a trail race held at Devil's Backbone Open Space in Loveland, Colorado. The event is scheduled for Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Course Details

The course is a loop designed to limit two-way traffic on the trails. It begins and ends in the Devil's Backbone Open Space parking lot. Runners will traverse several interconnected trails, including Hidden Valley trail, Hunter Loop, Laughing Horse Loop, and Wild Loop. A detailed course map is available.

Distance: The event covers a distance of over 10 kilometers. Marking: The route will be marked with flour arrows. Aid Station: There will be one water stop near the 3-mile mark, which runners pass twice. It provides water and Gatorade, manned by volunteers from the Loveland High School Band. Participants are advised to carry additional fluids if needed.

Practical Information

Parking: Carpooling is recommended as the parking lot fills quickly. A pass for Devil's Backbone Open Space is required to avoid a ticket. Timing: The event uses an "old school" timing method where finishers receive a stick representing their overall placing, which must be turned in promptly. Awards Ceremony: An awards ceremony is scheduled at Loveland Aleworks on West 4th Street in Loveland, beginning at 10:15 AM. Weather Contingency: If trails are closed due to muddy conditions, all runners will be transferred to the following year's event, as rescheduling is not possible. Future: The organizer has announced that the 2028 edition will be the final year of the event.
