Crazy 8s 8K and associated races
The event on July 18, 2026 takes place in Kingsport, Tennessee at 1 Tribe Way. Races use a figure 8 course through city streets and finish inside J. Fred Johnson Stadium. Little 8s and Special 8s youth races are held on the football field inside the stadium. Some sections of the street course are candle lit.
Multiple race options are offered on the same date, including an elite USATF 8K championship field, a 3K run/walk, a combined 3K and 8K entry, youth races, a special needs race, and a virtual or shirt only choice.
- 8K - Crazy 8s Run and Elite USATF 8K Championship
- 3K - Almost Crazy 3K Run/Walk
- 11K - Totally Crazy 3K and 8K combo
- 8K - Lazy 8s virtual 8K or shirt only
- Little 8s youth races - age specific short distances
- Special 8s - 100 yards for special needs participants
Youth race distances by age group:
- Ages 2 to 3: 100 yards
- Ages 4 to 5: 100 yards
- Special 8s: 100 yards
- Ages 6 to 7: 300 yards
- Ages 8 to 9: 300 yards
- Ages 10 to 12: 600 yards
The Totally Crazy combo requires completing both the 3K and the 8K; participants receive a special bib and both the 8K medal and a Totally Crazy medal at the 8K finish. Special 8s is a free event for special needs children and adults and runs during the Little 8s schedule. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
