CraggRunner Sprint 5k
The CraggRunner Sprint 5k takes place at the Steven Burke Sports Hub in Nelson. This event is held on a flat course at the cycle hub, which is designed to be level for participants of different experience levels. The race is part of a four-event series scheduled throughout 2026, though participants have the option to enter individual races or the full series.
The senior event is open to individuals aged 15 or older. To facilitate the field of participants, organizers arrange multiple race waves based on predicted finishing times. These waves are scheduled every 30 minutes, starting with slower predicted times and concluding with the faster groups.
Several distances are available during the event day:
- 5 km (Seniors aged 15+)
- 3 km (Under 14s)
- 2 km (Under 12s)
- 1 km (Under 10s)
The junior races (under 14 and below) feature medals for the first three boys and girls in each category. Technical services for the event include chip timing with results submitted to organizations such as Run Britain and Power of 10. Venue facilities include portable toilets and water available both before and after the races. Parking is restricted on the Sports Hub field, so participants are required to use local roads in the surrounding area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
