CraftHalf Half Marathon & 5K
This running event takes place in downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It features several race distances:
- A half marathon
- A 5k run/walk
- A timed Crazy One Mile race
- A Crazy Kids Dash for children aged 12 and under
- The CraftDouble, which combines the one mile and 5k races
The event hub is at Foothills Brewpub on 4th Street. The entire city block of 4th Street, described as the longest block in the city, is closed from Poplar to Spring Street for the occasion.
The event is described as a celebration of North Carolina craft beer and a community block party. After the races begin, a band plays and craft beer is served. Up to 12 different breweries are present. There is no admission fee for the block party; food and craft beers are available for purchase.
Registration for the races includes a finisher's medal, a gender-specific event t-shirt (if registered at least two weeks prior), two craft beers, food, and other items. The Kids Dash participants receive a special gift.
The event is organized by Foothills Brewing and Junction 311 Endurance Sports. It is part of The Race Series. Organizers note the event has sold out in previous years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
