Event

The Cracoe Cracker Challenge 2026 is scheduled for Saturday 21 February 2026 at Cracoe Village Hall, Cracoe, North Yorkshire, BD23 6LQ (grid ref SD973597). The event offers two route choices:

  • 25 miles
  • 12 miles

Both routes explore the Yorkshire Dales and are open to walkers and runners. Minimum age for entrants is 16 or older. The event is organised by LDWA - West Yorkshire. Entries are restricted to the first 125 participants; the event is currently full and a waiting list is in operation.

Practical information

Entry fees listed are: LDWA member - 25 miles £15.00, non member - 25 miles £20.00, LDWA member - 12 miles £12.00, non member - 12 miles £15.00. Waiting list entries require no payment until a place is offered; if offered, payment is required to confirm the entry. The route includes checkpoints at about 7, 12 and 18 miles; the start checkpoint serves tea, coffee and toast and there is a meal at the finish. The 25-mile route has a cut-off at Checkpoint 2 (12 miles) and the full walk is to be completed within 10 hours. For 2026 the south loop will be done first. No dogs are allowed. Parking at the village hall is limited; additional parking is available on the left-hand side of Hetton Road and in the large layby on the B6265 with marshals to assist.
