Cracoe Cracker Challenge 2026

The event offers a choice of route distances that explore the Yorkshire Dales and is open to both walkers and runners. The event starts from Cracoe Village Hall, Cracoe, North Yorkshire, BD23 6LQ, grid reference SD973597. The organiser is LDWA - West Yorkshire.

Distances:

  • 25 miles
  • 12 miles

Entries are limited to the first 125 participants; if the limit is reached new entries are placed on a waiting list and no payment is required while waiting. Entry fees vary by distance and LDWA membership. The minimum age for entrants is 16 years.

There are provisions along the route: refreshments of tea, coffee and toast are available at the start, well stocked checkpoints are located at 7.5, 8.8, 12 and 20.5 miles, and a meal is provided at the finish. There is a checkpoint at about 12.5 miles for the 25 mile route where participants who do not reach it in the required time will be asked to retire. The walk is to be completed in 10 hours.

For 2026 the course runs the South loop first, changing the order compared with the 12 mile North route used in 2024. Parking at the village hall is limited; additional parking is available on the left side of Hetton Road and in the large layby on the B6265 with marshals directing vehicles. Overnight parking in the village hall car park is not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
