Cowes Classic : Bass Coast Series
The Cowes Classic is a swim-run event on Phillip Island held on 27 February 2027. The format combines a tide-assisted open-water swim and a road/foreshore run. The course includes a 500 m swim around the pier followed by a 4 km run from the transition zone up Thompson Avenue, left down Chapel Street toward Silverleaves, then a loop back along the foreshore to finish in front of the North Pier Hotel.
Entries are online only and will close on 24 February 2027 or earlier if entry limits are reached. Minimum competitor age is 15 on the day. Entry fees vary by category and timing, with separate prices for individuals, juniors, and relay teams under early bird and standard pricing.
Competitor categories cover junior and senior age groups, masters categories (40+ and 50+), and team relay divisions including mixed teams. Local-resident eligibility is based on a permanent address within Bass Coast Shire.
Race equipment rules specify no extraneous aids; wetsuits are permitted and swim caps supplied by organisers must be worn. Each competitor receives a timing transponder which must be worn during the race; lost or unreturned transponders incur a replacement charge.
