Cowes Classic : Bass Coast Series
The Cowes Classic is a combined swim and run event held on Saturday 27 February 2027 at Cowes. The event comprises a tide assisted 500 m swim around the pier followed by a 4 km run. The run route goes up Thompson Avenue, turns left onto Chapel Street toward Silverleaves, then loops back along the foreshore to finish in front of the North Pier Hotel.
Registration is online only and walk-up entries are not permitted. Entry fees differ by category and timing; early bird and standard pricing apply with listed rates for Individuals 18 plus, Juniors under 18, and Relay Teams. The minimum competitor age is 15 on the day of the event.
Participants receive a coloured swim cap that determines start waves, a timing transponder (bracelet) and a Race Pack that includes a Cowes Classic T-shirt. The Race Centre issues timing bracelets and swim caps prior to the race; returned transponders are required as lost or non-returned units incur a $100 replacement charge. Results and presentations take place at the North Pier Hotel after the event. Prize pool details for 2027 are to be confirmed.
Race rules require adherence to the marked course, use of official race numbers, and prohibit extraneous aids such as fins or flotation devices. Wetsuits and goggles may be worn and are recommended. Organisers reserve the right to accept, reject or cancel entries and to enforce disqualification for safety or unsportsmanlike behaviour.
