Cowboy 100 : April 17, 2027
The Cowboy 100 is a 100-mile point-to-point trail race in Nebraska running from Valentine to Atkinson along the Cowboy Trail, a crushed-limestone rail-trail that is off-limits to automobiles. The route is non-technical, 100% runnable, and flat. The 2027 edition runs the second half of the Cowboy 200 in reverse; because it is considered a technically new course, previous Cowboy 100 course records will not transfer.
The field is capped at 150 runners. Planned full aid stations are located in Arabia, Wood Lake, Johnstown, Ainsworth, Long Pine, Bassett, and Stuart, which reduces the average distance between aid to about 14 miles. Live GPS tracking will be provided by Legends Tracking USA. The event has a generous 34-hour cutoff and is a single non-repetitive point-to-point 100. A shuttle will be available for uncrewed runners; specific shuttle and aid station details will be provided in the runners manual.
Registration closes Monday, March 22 at 11:59 PM CT. The event policy states there are no refunds and no bib transfers. Entry may be deferred for race credit under a tiered schedule depending on how far in advance the deferral is requested; no deferrals are allowed after March 17. Finishers of the 100-mile race will receive new finisher buckles in 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
