Valentine Marathon : Race information
The Valentine Marathon takes place on August 1, 2026 in Valentine, Nebraska, and benefits the Valentine Community Schools Foundation. The event uses the Cowboy Trail and donates one dollar per mile run back to the foundation.

The course is USATF certified and is a Boston Marathon qualifying course. Most of the route is smooth packed earth, with paved sections through town and a wooden-covered bridge. Aid stations are located approximately every three miles. Professional timing and live runner tracking are provided by Precision Timing, and pacing support is offered by the Garmin Pace Team. Race photography is provided and uploaded to participant accounts. Race swag includes a belt buckle finisher medal. The ultra race offers a 22L Explorer Adventurer Touring Backpack from Viking Bags for the winner.
Logistics noted by the organizers include mandatory packet pickup the day before the race, no race-day packet pickup, no gear check, and non-transferrable non-refundable entries. Entries may be deferred to the following year for a $20 processing fee. Walking is permitted for all distances and the full marathon must be completed within seven hours.
