Event overview
The Cow Chip Classic Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Prairie Du Sac, WI. The event includes two distances:

Race information
All racers begin in Prairie du Sac and cross the Wisconsin River. The 10K route includes a climb identified as "Heartbreak Hill" and passes the Lake Wisconsin Golf course before returning to Prairie du Sac. The 5K course turns onto Golf Road for part of the distance and then returns into town. Timing is recorded with transponder chips attached to the race bib; participants are asked to allow extra time for pickup. No animals are allowed on the race course or in the park. Age divisions are by five-year brackets from 0-14 up through 70 and over, separated by male and female. Awards include plaques for winners and medals for second and third place. Post-race refreshments and snacks are provided, and restrooms and showers are available. Early packet pickup, registration and T-shirt distribution are scheduled for Friday, August 30.
