26th Annual Covington Cheerios® Challenge
The 26th Annual Covington Cheerios® Challenge is a fundraiser held at the Covington Family YMCA, 2140 Newton Drive NE, Covington, GA 30014, on April 17, 2027. The event supports the YMCA's WHY IT MATTERS Annual Campaign, which funds financial assistance so children and families can access Y programs such as youth sports, swim lessons, and summer day camp. The Cheerios® Challenge is identified as the Covington Y's largest fundraiser for that campaign.
Race options include the following distances:
- 1 mile Fun Run
- 5K
- 10K
- Trix Tot Trot for young children
Registration for the 1 mile, 5K, and 10K includes a t-shirt. Participation medals are awarded for the Trix Tot Trot. The 1 mile, 5K, and 10K races offer age group and overall awards; the 5K and 10K also list masters and grand masters categories and multiple age-group placings. Packet pick-up takes place at the Covington Family YMCA on the days before and the morning of the event.
A post-race festival follows the races and features live music, free food, local vendors, and activities for children. The festival may include appearances by the Trix Rabbit or the Cheerios® Honey Bee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
