25th Annual Covington Cheerios Challenge
The Covington Cheerios Challenge is an annual fundraising event held at the Covington Family YMCA in Georgia. The event serves as the largest fundraiser for the Covington Y's Annual Campaign, which provides financial assistance for community members to access youth sports, swim lessons, and summer day camps.
Participants can choose from several event distances and categories:
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- Trix Tot-Trot (held on Legion Field)
- Phantom Runner (registration for a t-shirt only)
Registration for the 1 mile, 5K, and 10K events includes a t-shirt. For the Trix Tot-Trot, participants receive participation medals. The event includes a competitive element with overall, masters, grand masters, and senior grand masters awards. Additionally, age group awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in groups ranging from 10 and under to 80 and over. The 1 mile Fun Run specifically recognizes the top boy and girl finishers overall and within age brackets up to age 12.
The event features a post-race festival located at Legion Field. This festival includes live music, food, and activities for children. Local vendors are present on-site, and attendees may see mascots such as the Trix Rabbit or the Cheerios Honey Bee. Packet pick-up is available at the Covington Family YMCA on the Friday before the event and on the morning of the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
