COVE Benefit Beach 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run
The COVE Benefit Beach 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run begin and end at Charles Mears State Park in Pentwater, Michigan. The event supports COVE and includes both in-person and virtual options.
All in-person races are officially timed by Runners Edge Race Timing. The 5K course follows a mix of pavement and dirt road and finishes with a half mile on the beach. Participants may get their feet wet on that beach section if windy conditions produce high waves on Lake Michigan.
The 10K course runs on local streets and pavement until reaching the beach at Duna Vista, then continues for approximately 2.5 miles along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Participants on the beach section may get their feet wet if it is windy with high waves.
A virtual 5K Run/Walk is available as an alternative to the in-person races. The event highlights running and walking on the Lake Michigan shoreline and uses measured distances and official timing for the in-person races.
