Country to Capital Ultra Marathon
The Country to Capital Ultra Marathon is a renowned 43-mile point-to-point race starting in Wendover and finishing near London's Little Venice canal basin. It marks the opening of the ultra running season and attracts elite runners globally. The course traverses the scenic Buckinghamshire countryside, crosses the M25 via a bridge, and follows the Grand Union Canal towpath into London.
The terrain includes 26% cross-country trails, 28% roads and paths, and 46% canal towpath, with some muddy sections and moderate elevation changes. The event features five aid stations offering water, snacks, and the famous Go Beyond fruit cake. Participants receive GPS trackers for navigation and live tracking.
