Countdown to One! Last Man Standing (Upstate)
This event is an elimination-style running challenge held on a one mile loop in Vernon, NY at 5435 Townline Road. The competition takes place on 04/11/2026. Participants run repeated single-mile laps; the start and finish for each mile are at the same location on the loop.
Each mile must be completed in less than the required time to advance. The initial Bronze series requires mile times of 15 minutes, 13 minutes, 11 minutes and 10 minutes. The Silver series follows with mile times of 9 1/2, 9, 8 1/2 and 8 minutes. The Gold series requires mile times of 7 1/2, 7, 6 1/2 and 6 minutes. If further rounds are needed to identify the last person standing, each subsequent required mile time will be reduced by 30 seconds.
Runners who complete the required miles for a category receive a pin to attach to their finisher medal; all participants receive a finisher medal. Top male and top female finishers each receive a cash prize of $125. The posted registration fee for the event is $40. Participants may rest, stretch or refuel after a completed mile; there is a separation between each leg of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
