About the race
The Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run & Pancake Breakfast takes place on September 26, 2026 at the SIUE Stratton Quad in Edwardsville, Illinois. The event offers three distances:
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 mile Fun Run
Registration details vary by distance. The 10K fee is $40, the 5K fee is $35, and the Fun Run fee is $20. Registration opens March 10; registration for the 10K and 5K closes August 1, while Fun Run registration remains open through race day. A T-shirt is guaranteed for participants who register by September 4. Early bird pricing ends July 31. Registration for participants 21 and over includes one complimentary drink ticket.
Participant entries include a pancake breakfast ticket. Post-run beer is provided by Global Brew for participants 21 and over. Official race timing is provided by Final Lap Racing. Awards include trophies for the top male and female finishers in the 10K and 5K and medals for the top two finishers in each age group.
The event offers discounted registration for SIUE alumni, current students, and children 10 and under; there is a $5 discount for alumni. Net proceeds help fund more than $20,000 in annual student scholarships and support Alumni Association programs and scholarship funds.
