SIUE Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run and Pancake Breakfast
The event takes place on September 26, 2026 at the SIUE Stratton Quad in Edwardsville, Illinois. It is part of SIUE Homecoming and Family Weekend and marks the Route 66 centennial commemoration. The program includes multiple running distances and a post event pancake breakfast.

Registration opens March 10, 2026. Registration deadlines differ by event; the 10K and 5K have an earlier closing date than the Fun Run. Entry fees listed by the organizer include:
- 10K entry fee of $40.00
- 5K entry fee of $35.00
- Fun Run entry fee of $20.00
Each registration fee includes one pancake breakfast ticket, one complimentary drink ticket for participants aged 21 and older, and an official Cougars Unleashed short sleeve shirt if registered by the T shirt deadline of September 4. Special discounts apply for SIUE alumni, current students, and children aged 10 and under.
The event statement on inclusion notes that participation from transgender and non binary athletes is accepted and that each participant’s declared gender will be accepted without additional supporting evidence. Dogs are welcome. Race timing is provided by Final Lap Racing. Proceeds support the SIUE Alumni Association Scholarship and Programs, which provide over $20,000 annually in scholarships and programming.
