SIUE Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run & Pancake Breakfast
This event takes place on September 26, 2026 at the SIUE Stratton Quad in Edwardsville, Illinois as part of SIUE Homecoming & Family Weekend and the Route 66 Centennial celebration. Distances offered include:
- 10K
- 5K
- Fun Run - 1 mile
Registration details differ by distance. Registration opens March 10; fees listed by event include $40 for the 10K, $35 for the 5K, and $20 for the Fun Run. Registration packages include entry for the selected distance, one pancake breakfast ticket, one complimentary drink ticket for participants 21 and over, and an official short-sleeve race shirt if registered by the T-shirt deadline of September 4. Special discounts are available for SIUE alumni, current students, and children 10 and under.
Organizers note an inclusion policy that accepts each participant’s declared gender for race entry without additional documentation. Post-run amenities include a pancake breakfast provided by Chris Cakes and post-run beer for participants 21 and older. Official race timing is provided by Final Lap Racing. Awards include trophies for the top two male and female finishers in the 10K and 5K and medals for the top two finishers in each age group: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60 plus. A free DexaScan is offered to the top four runners by DexaFit Edwardsville.
