Event overview
The Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series (May) takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Sky Country Trailhead in Bellevue, WA. The event is organized by Seattle Running Club and Northwest Trail Runs. Each entry donates $15 to King County Parks; the series has raised over $265,000 for the parks. This is the 22nd annual edition of the series.

Series format, course and rules
The summer series runs on the second Saturday of May, June, July, and August; fall races are on the last Sunday in October. Series awards use each runner's best three of four races. Top overall Man, Woman, and Nonbinary runners by cumulative time receive awards and a free entry for next year. Individual event awards go to the top three Men, Women, and Nonbinary finishers.
The course uses single-track trails through forest, marsh and wetland habitats, with rolling hills, several moderate climbs and a few short, steep inclines. The event is cup-free; runners are asked to carry refillable water containers. Dogs are not allowed on course. Online registration opens February 10, 2026, and day-of registration is available.
