Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series #1
The event is the first race in the Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series, the 21st annual edition organized by Seattle Running Club and Northwest Trail Runs. It includes two trail distances and takes place at King County’s Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park in Newcastle, WA. Registration is available online through May 7 and event-day registration is also available. The registration and start location is Sky Country Trailhead off 166th Way SE, not the Red Town trailhead.
The park features rolling, runnable hills and a mixture of trail types from narrow technical single-track to wider groomed trails. Runners pass through lush forest, fern-lined single-track, hills and marshes. The park is about 15 minutes from Seattle. The series has raised over $250,000 for King County Parks and has contributed many hundreds of hours of trail work.

Series competition rules require runners to complete at least three of the four races in either the Short Series or the Long Series to be eligible for series standings.
