Event overview
The Cotton Pickin 50K is scheduled for October 18, 2025, in Mercer, Tennessee (Madison County). The event is a certified 50K that starts and ends at the old Mercer Cotton Gin. Mercer is described as a very small town with one restaurant, Pappa Daddy's, and all finishers receive a coupon to eat there.
Course and logistics
The course uses local roads. The first half has rolling hills on blacktop roads. The second half is described as extremely flat on a mix of gravel and blacktop roads. Runners will pass cotton fields, soybean fields, and corn fields along the route. There is an 8 hour cutoff to finish. Rolling aid stations are placed along the course at approximately two mile intervals. The start and finish location is near TN 138 and Sturdivant Crossing Road in Mercer.
