Shamrock Race for the Helmet
The Shamrock Race for the Helmet is presented by the Cottleville Firefighters and takes place on March 14, 2026, at 1385 Motherhead Road in Cottleville, MO. The event is a timed 5K Run/Walk through Cottleville that follows a course through a park, across a stream, and past nearby lakes.
Top finishers receive green fire helmets. Participants receive a race-day themed shirt with registration; shirt quantities are limited after March 1. Packet pickup is available on March 11, March 12, and March 13 at Cottleville Fire Station #1 in the multipurpose building behind the station, with additional pickup on race morning at the same location. Registration fees vary by registration date.
Roads will be closed for the duration of the event; affected roads include Highway N from the fire station to Weiss Road, Weiss Road from Highway N to Cottleville Parkway, and eastbound Cottleville Parkway to Midrivers Mall Drive. Post-race refreshments include donuts and cold beer. Proceeds support Cottleville Firefighters Outreach programs such as providing winter coats for children in need, offering shelter to families after a fire, and delivering gift baskets to cancer patients.
