Costumed Creature Crawl 5K Trail Run/Walk
The Costumed Creature Crawl 5K Trail Run/Walk takes place on October 31, 2026, at the Van Scott Nature Reserve of the Delaware Highlands Conservancy near Beach Lake, PA. The event offers in-person and virtual participation and includes options for different age groups.
Distances:
- 3.1 Miles
- Crawlers age 0-5 may crawl, walk, or run any distance
In-person categories include adults, ages 6–15, and crawlers ages 0–5. Virtual categories are available for adults and ages 6–15. In-person registration includes run/walk entry, a T-shirt, and a medal for the first 50 in-person registrants, plus light refreshments and access to community activities. Virtual participants can upload photos or videos and submit race times; T-shirts and medals are available for in-person participants only. Participants who raise $250 or more for the host organization receive an embroidered Costumed Crawl sweatshirt.
Along the trail, water stations and first aid will be available. Reusable water bottles are encouraged. Trails are not stroller-friendly; baby or hiking carriers are recommended. Dogs are not permitted on trails. Costumes should be family and trail-friendly; scary masks and weapons are not allowed.
A costume contest will award prizes in six categories: Funniest, Cutest, Most Creative, Most Adorable Duo, Best DIY Costume, and Best Group Costume (team of up to four). Additional on-site activities include music, a nature scavenger hunt, a mindfulness walk with stations, a story walk, and a crafts table.
