Corporate Classic 5K

Event Overview

The Corporate Classic is a running and walking event held in New Orleans City Park, organized by the Crescent City Classic and the YMCA of Greater New Orleans. The event is open to individual participants and corporate teams of various sizes. The race serves as a fundraiser for the YMCA Adult Literacy Program.

Course Details

The 5 km course is located entirely within City Park. Participants start on Palm Drive near the Children's Museum and proceed onto Friedrichs Avenue, passing the Festival Grounds and Christian Brothers School. After a section on Wisner Boulevard and City Park Avenue, the route re-enters the park via Anseman Avenue. The path continues past the New Orleans Museum of Art and down Roosevelt Mall before finishing on the Practice Track.

Participation and Qualifications

The event welcomes runners, joggers, and walkers. All finishers receive a commemorative medal and a race t-shirt. The Corporate Classic also serves as a qualifying event for the Crescent City Classic 10k. Runners who complete the 5 km course in 27 minutes or under are eligible for seeded starting positions in the following year's 10k race.

Team Competition

Corporate teams are divided into three divisions based on company size: Division I (over 500 employees), Division II (101-500 employees), and Division III (up to 100 employees). There is also an Open Division for non-corporate teams. Awards are presented to the fastest teams based on the cumulative time of the six quickest members, as well as to the largest teams in each category.

Amenities and Festivities

Registered participants have access to a post-race festival featuring a live band, food, and beverages. For parents participating in the race, the event provides a supervised Kids Zone for children aged 10 and under which includes games and inflatable activities.
