Event Overview

The Corn to Creek Trail Races are held in Lincoln, Nebraska, within the natural setting of Wilderness Park. This grassroots event features two distances primarily on dirt singletrack trails, designed to showcase the park's rugged terrain during the late fall season. The race focuses on community involvement, with all proceeds supporting Friends of Wilderness Park, a local nonprofit dedicated to trail maintenance and conservation.

Participants can choose from the following distances:

  • 25 km
  • 10 km

Course Details

The 25 km course consists of a single, non-repetitive loop that covers a large portion of the park. It includes three well-stocked aid stations and a water drop. The 10 km course features a 2.5-mile start loop followed by a 1.85-mile out-and-back section. Both routes are largely flat, with approximately 200 feet of elevation gain for the longer distance and 100 feet for the shorter distance.

The terrain is composed of 85-90% dirt singletrack and 10-15% crushed limestone. While the course has negligible elevation changes, runners may encounter technical elements such as tree roots, rocks, fallen leaves, and short hills. The event is cupless, meaning participants must carry their own hydration vessels.

Participant Information

Registration for the event is capped at 200 runners across both distances. The start and finish area provides restrooms and supplies, and the halfway point of the 25 km route also includes restroom facilities. There are no time cutoffs for either race. Race shirts are available as an optional addition. The event takes place on a closed course marked with flags, and runners are required to follow specific rules regarding trail etiquette and environmental conservation.
