Cops & Monsters 5K Run/Walk
The event is hosted by the Indiana State University Doctor of Physical Therapy program to support ISU DPT students attending the 2027 APTA Combined Sections Meeting. It features a community run and walk with themed elements, designated splash zones staffed by local first responders, and event T shirts included with registration. Participants registered by October 1, 2026 are guaranteed a shirt; registrations after that date may not receive a shirt.
Distances offered:
- Kids Run (ages 13 and under) one mile
- Cops and Monsters 5K General Admission (ages 13 and up) 3.1 miles
- ISU Students Faculty and Staff only (ages 12 and up) 3.1 miles
Awards are given for the children s race and for adult categories. Children receive prizes for finishing and there is an award for best costume. Adult awards include Best Time Men, Best Time Women, Best Costume Individual, and Best Costume Group.
Race day logistics note that parking is available across the Indiana State University campus and most campus lots are free on weekends. Check in takes place near the start and finish area. Liability waivers will be required after registration and a parent or legal guardian must complete applicable waivers for participants under 18. The event proceeds rain or shine, though organizers may modify or cancel portions of the event for severe weather. Registration fees are non refundable.
Suggested items to bring include comfortable shoes, weather appropriate clothing, a change of clothes or towel for splash zones, water, and safe costumes that do not obstruct vision or create tripping hazards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
